This is a Floor Foundation Kit Grid for an Ashlee or OldFields Metal Shed. 10X12 Foot in size.
Please Note that On the OldFields Metal Foundation Kits that you will have to drill Pilot Holes in the Frame to accept the SPAX Screws that join up the Frame. The Screws are Included with the Frame.
Foundation Kits are supplied without the Timber Plywood floor and we recommend that you source this locally from a Timber Supplier/Hardware. We recommend Marine Plywood Sheets and we recommend that you Paint the Sheets on Both Sides with a Floor Paint or Floor Varnish. This will make it more durable.
The Shed Foundation Kit is not essential if you are mounting your Shed to an existing Concrete Plinth or concrete yard. No wood sheets are included. How does it work? It is vital that your shed is well anchored to the ground. Please make sure your base has a DPC Plastic Membrane to prevent rising damp. If do not wish to use the foundation kit, please ensure you have a level Concrete plinth or Large Paving Flagstones. After erecting the shed run silicone under the base rail to prevent water ingress. Then Anchor the shed base rail to the concrete with Wall Bolts drilled into the Concrete. Make sure that you are erecting your shed in an dry level area that has good drainage. If the shed is to be located in a wet area then we would advise the use of a Foundation kit. This will raise the floor level and assist with drainage. If I buy the foundation kit how do I use it? You assemble the Shed Foundation Kit First which looks like an grid Frame flat on the ground, attach the base rails of the shed to the foundation kit, then erect the shed . You then have two choices.
A. You can mix and float in Concrete over your Floor Foundation Frame and Level off. The Weight of this Concrete on your frame should Anchor your shed.
B. If you have mounted your Foundation Frame onto an existing concrete Plinth or Flagstones you can bolt the Frame to the concrete and then you can Sheet out the top of the foundation grid Floor with Marine Plywood.
